Quite amazing what a few hours will do!  I am so lucky to see this from the other side this year.  Last year when I was first blessed and honored to be a Vagnista; I could barely see anything other than the script in front of my nose.  But this year… I can truly take it all in.  Have fun and enjoy the journey you are all amazing! xoxo Sandi

Celebrity:
Does anyone have any connections to local “big women”? We are still looking for two women to take on the monologue “I was there in the room”. It’s about being there as a women gives birth so would be well suited perhaps to a mother or an elder…. Anyway, if you have any ideas or connections, great! Let us know and we can make a plan.

FUNDRAISING

Made By Men:
The lovely Joe Ronzio dropped by rehearsal today to update everyone on the “Made By Men Bakesale” that he will be co-ordinating. He will be sending out an electronic version of the letter he gave out soon, but if you need to contact him in the meantime he can be reached at joeronzio@hotmail.com

Chocolate Vaginas Anyone?
We’ll be bringing chocolate vaginas to next week’s rehearsal so please think about if you are willing and/or able to sell some for us. They are $3 each and will include a “save-the-date” sticker…. a bit of preshow advertising. To keep things simple, we’ll allocate either 10 or 20… but please email us and let us know if there’s a reason you would like to take more….

La Vie En Rose:
As the fabulous Sandi mentioned, she is looking into the idea of holding a fundraiser at La Vie En Rose. This could be done at the Rideau Centre store on a Sunday night after rehearsal if we get the requisite numbers. If you or any friends would be interested in participating, please email Sandy at sandi.stoliar@hotmail.com.

Tickets:
Thanks to Tanya and Hana, we already have almost $800 in ticket sales. That’s amazing and excellent and fantastic and we love them! We would love for you to follow their example if it’s possible and get those tickets sold and the money in. Today’s run through more than suggests it will be a show well worth seeing!!!

Also, please don’t feel that you have to wait until all your tickets are sold before bringing money in! We will have a much better idea of how we are doing if you bring in the sales as you have them. Hope that makes sense!!

Hello, how is everyone? So good to be involved in this endeavour.

Well! Dang it! Those Vday Ottawa babes are happenin’

All the V words were flying around in multiple accents!

We started with the agenda, ticket sales, Chocolate V Sales, Joe the baker coordinator dude discussed his participation of organizing baking boyz, and of course sponsorship! This was followed with voice and breathing exercises led by our wonderful three prof. actresses, Janine, Laurie and Zoe. Then we split up into small groups of cast members and read our lines! WOW! I was cracking up about those short skirts and angry Vs. We then all regrouped and had to read snippets in front of all the womyn!

This is gonna be a really great show!

This blog is dedicated to sharing stories and such from all those involved with the Vagina Day Monologues taking place in Ottawa at the Bronson Centre March 2nd and March 3rd.

This blog will complement the official Vday Ottawa website.

We had our first rehearsal last week, January 21 at HeartHouse on Rideau Street. We did some warmup exercises and we had to become one with our characters. This is going to be awesome!
